A current version iMac with similar specs would run you at least $1,999. Features include a beautiful 5120 x 2880 display, 3.5GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive, and a variety of I/O connectors. Even with its ultra-thin form factor, it's still easy to upgrade the RAM in this iMac. Use your savings to buy some extra GBs.
